Ashley McGuinness, MD

Dr. Ashley McGuinness is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained and board-certified Mohs micrographic surgeon. She specializes in surgical treatment and reconstruction for both benign skin lesions and skin cancers. She joins First Capitol Surgical Dermatology after practicing in the surrounding area in past years. As a St. Charles native, Dr. McGuinness feels privileged to provide personalized, exceptional care to her community.

Dr. McGuinness received her medical doctorate from Saint Louis University School of Medicine and is a member of both Alpha Sigma Nu and Alpha Omega Alpha honor societies. She completed her residency in dermatology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and her fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She co-authored several manuscripts in premier dermatologic journals and has presented her findings at numerous national meetings. Her dermatologic opinions have been featured in Vogue, Prevention, and Allure magazines as well as in the local publication Ladue News. She is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and American College of Mohs Surgery.

In her spare time, Dr. McGuinness loves spending time with her husband Dr. Andrew Hayden, their twin daughters, and their dog Louie. She loves spending time with friends and family, trying new restaurants, traveling, sports, and spending time outdoors.
